Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1st August 2026

Applies to: mastersalesapp.com and all Mastersales services worldwide

1. Introduction

Mastersales takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we use it, and what rights you have over it, wherever in the world you're accessing the Platform from. It's written to comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and, for users based in the EU/EEA, the EU GDPR.

2. Who We Are

The data controller is Mastersales App Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17247038, registered office at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. For any privacy questions, contact hello@mastersalesapp.com.

3. Information We Collect

Account and purchase information

  • Name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text)
  • Billing details and purchase history (card details are handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store full card numbers)
  • Country/region, used to apply the right tax treatment and currency display

Learning data

  • Course progress, video watch time, quiz or exercise results
  • Access period start and expiry dates for each course

Technical data

  • IP address, browser and device type, and general location (country/city level)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)

Communications

  • Emails, support messages, and survey or feedback responses

4. How We Collect It

Most data comes directly from you — when you register, buy a course, contact support, or fill in a form. Some is collected automatically as you use the Platform (cookies, usage logs). Our payment processor also shares confirmation of successful payments with us.

5. Our Legal Basis for Processing

  • Performance of a contract — to create your account, give you course access, and process payments
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud, and improve our courses, balanced against your rights
  • Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time
  • Legal obligation — to keep financial records for tax and accounting purposes

6. International Users and Regional Rights

Mastersales serves customers worldwide from our base in the UK. Depending on where you're based, you may have additional or slightly different rights on top of those in Section 10:

EU/EEA residents: The EU GDPR applies to our processing of your data alongside the UK GDPR, giving you the same core set of rights described in Section 10, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority as well as the ICO.

California and other US state residents: You may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) to know what data we hold, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Other jurisdictions: Wherever local data protection law gives you rights beyond what's described here, we'll honour them — contact us at hello@mastersalesapp.com and we'll work out what applies to you.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your course progress — the Platform won't work properly without these. We may also use analytics cookies (for example, Google Analytics) to understand how people use the Platform, and these are only set with your consent, gathered through our cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time through the banner or your browser settings.

8. Who We Share Your Data With

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Payment processors (Stripe) to handle transactions and refunds
  • Video hosting and platform infrastructure providers who deliver course content
  • Email and marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp / ConvertKit) if you've opted in to marketing
  • Analytics providers to help us understand and improve the Platform
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, where needed
  • Law enforcement or regulators where we're legally required to

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

9. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK, including in the US or elsewhere. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, transfers to a country covered by a UK or EU adequacy decision, or certification under a recognised data transfer framework.

10. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR (and, where applicable, EU GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection regulator

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mastersalesapp.com. UK-based users can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. EU-based users can also complain to their local supervisory authority. We'd appreciate the chance to sort things out directly first.

11. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Financial records connected to your purchases are kept for 6 years, in line with UK tax record-keeping requirements. If you unsubscribe from marketing, we stop using your data for that purpose straight away, though we may keep a minimal record that you opted out. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us, subject to what we're legally required to retain.

12. Keeping Your Data Secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely immune to risk, but we work to keep yours as safe as possible, and we'll notify affected users and, where required, regulators, in the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights.

13. Children's Privacy

Mastersales is intended for adults aged 18 and over, worldwide. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, regardless of the age of consent that may apply in your local law. If we become aware that we have, we'll delete it promptly.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with an updated date, and let you know by email if a change is material.
